ADRL Houston Report
"We went to our 1st ADRL Pro Extreme Motorcycle race of the 2010 season this past week ( March 19-20). Jeff, Anne, Ken, Mitch and I all got to the the Pilot Travel Center in Baytown, Texas on Thursday afternoon. We parked the big red rig and set up our Star Racing display out front of the big store/McDonalds and let kids sit on the bike for photos and gave away lots of race tickets.
At 6:00 we loaded up and drove over to Houston Raceway Park and set up our pit area. We had to get our credentials, set up awning, and get the technical inspection handled. We finally get finished at 11:00 that night. Whew what a long day!
We got to track early Friday morning and we made 3 runs to Qualify 11th out of 25 Pro Extreme Motorcycles. We had a carburator fall off on our 1st run...the 2nd run was good, 165 MPH in 4.31 seconds. The last run Friday night our clutch malfunctioned and pulled Anne through the starting line lights. But we got in the show. We worked on the bike till Midnight and got it ready to make the last qualifiying run on Saturday.
When we got to the track Saturday morning at 7:30 the ADRL started rushing everyone to hurry and get the last run in as there was a huge chance for rain by 11:00 AM. We had a spark plug blow out on our last run....and several competitors improved. We were scared we may get "bumped" out. We ended up staying in the show at 15th! Then the storms came. It rained for hours, so the race was rescheduled for July!!!!!!
So, we drove home all night in the pouring rain. Now we have time to practice and improve even more before we go back to race in Houston Texas. The next ADRL race is April 23-24 at our home track South Georgia Motorsports Park in Adel Baby!!!! April 9-11, we go to Commerce GA for the AMA Dragbike race to set up the big rig. We sell parts and support our customers.
Come see us anytime at the races or in Americus GA...GB3"
