BRISTOL DRAGWAY, Bristol TN

AUGUST 14-15, 2004

Thunder in the Valley Promises to be a Weekend of Firsts

Bristol Dragway, TN will be host to a number of firsts this coming weekend, August 14th and 15th at the AHDRA S&S Proven Performance Thunder in the Valley Nationals presented by Smith Brothers Harley-Davidson.

In his AHDRA debut, Chip Ellis and the Star/G2 V-Twin team are rolling out the S&S Cycle powered Street Pro motorcycle.  First introduced in August of 2003 as part of the S&S Tribute 145 project, this modified 2003 Dyna Superglide features a rubber mounted 133” S&S Twin Cam Street Pro engine.  The bike is making its third appearance at the AHDRA and the team owners George Bryce and George Smith are promising plenty of excitement when this beautiful machine heats up the track.

Chip is also making his first appearance riding for the Star/G2 team.  A graduate of Frank Hawley’s and Doug Foley’s Drag Racing Schools, Chip has been setting speed records and thrashing the competition since 1999.  He currently holds the AMA ProStar Funny Bike land speed record of 210.18 mph.

In addition, AHDRA Bristol will be Chip’s inaugural competition on a V-Twin.  Fans will recognize him from the ProStar sanction where he rides and tunes a 1000cc SuperSport Class/ Kawasaki ZX-10R and is the points leader in the SuperSport Class on a Kawasaki ZX-6R 600.  With his no holds barred, flat out fast racing style, Chip is more than ready to make the leap to the S&S powered Street Pro motorcycle.

Combine the AHDRA, Star/G2 Racing, Chip Ellis and the S&S powered Street Pro motorcycle and brace yourself for Thunder in the Valley August 14th and 15th in Bristol, TN.
