NOTES AND QUOTES: Dressed in F-18 gray primer and with the help of associate sponsors, Angelle and Star Racing debuted their new Kosman chassis with Suzuki TL1000R bodywork this weekend in Gainesville and advanced to the finals where they narrowly missed taking home their 57th career win. Despite very little testing over the winter, Angelle and the talented Star Racing crew was able to adapt quickly to the characteristics of the new bike and prove, once again, that they are ready defend their title. However, that title contention remains uncertain as Star Racing continues to search for a major marketing and sponsorship partner to help them through the 2002 season and beyond.

George Bryce: "First off, I want to thank all of our associate sponsors...they are our friends and family. We hope that the success and great job our team did his weekend will have a positive effect on our sponsorship search. We were a part of an unbelievable amount of nationwide television coverage, interviews, and action footage..... along with sit down interviews for the various local networks, televison, and newspapers. A sponsor could have really cashed in on all of this publicity. The new bike was awesome! We have the new Kosman chassis with Airtech TL1000R Suzuki bodywork and our proven Vortex II engine combination working smoothly together. We were the quickest several rounds. Great job team, our bike and engines were perfect."

Angelle: "Thank you Star Racing. Thank you for building me a new winner. I did not think it was possible to out-do our last bike...but you did it! I am sorry I blew it in the final. I knew that if I cut a good light and went straight, I would win. I just got in a hurry and forgot to wait on the shift light....I started shifting too soon. It has made me more determined to do it right at Houston. For sure, Craig Treble deserved the win.. that makes his second. He raced his race, stuck to his job and focused; It paid off for him and his team. I went over to his pit and congratulated him and his crew. I hope that our performance and television time will help us find our new sponsor. We sure can make a great deal for a company that can take advantage of our popularity and winning ways! Last but not least, thank you to the thousands of die hard fans that endured the record heat wave and blistering sun to meet me and get autographs. You all are the best fans and I love you for it. See you in Houston. God bless you all."
