NOTES AND QUOTES: With a renewed and more positive outlook on the 2002 season, Angelle guided her Star Racing powered Suzuki to a semi-final round appearance in the 15th annual O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals. Proudly displaying the colors of their soon to be announced sponsor, Angelle and Star Racing continued the quest for a third straight championship by overcoming pre-race excitement and technical problems to gain valuable points in the race for the number one spot.

George Bryce: "Great effort from our whole team! We had a very unusual week-end in that we damaged two engines. Friday in qualifying we broke a cam chain and Sunday, during the 1st round, we dropped a valve in our second engine. In addition, our new sponsor group was with us Saturday and Sunday. The good news is we stayed number two in the points. Thanks again to our entire crew."

Angelle: "I tell you, I though it was "meant to be" when we survived the set backs the way we did. I want to thank Star Racing for their hard work this weekend. We had to use three engines, and each one went at least 7.19 or 7.20. We can’t wait to announce our new sponsor in Atlanta, so everyone hang in there. It will be very exciting!!"

NHRA/Winston Pro Stock Motorcycle Point Standings: 1. Craig Treble (229) 2. Angelle (174) 3. Shawn Gann (134) 4. Geno Scali (126) 5. Steve Johnson (125).
