PUMP IT UP!

If you're looking for a way to give your Road King the power you deserve - move up to a 126" engine by S&S Cycle/Star Racing.  Our customer, Scott Smalley, is getting over 173 rear wheel horsepower, which is not too bad for a bagger.  An article on Smalley's bike was published in American Bagger Magazine - click here to read.  To get your 126" call  800-841-7827.
MEGA-FEST WEEKEND:

During the July 4th weekend, the Star 18-wheeler participated in the Twiggs/Macon National Dragway "Mega-Fest".  The festival was a family friendly event with music concerts, and Pro Mod car and Pro Mod bike drag racing.  The Star crew set up our parts display and helped customers.

HOT TIME IN THE ALABAMA SUMMERTIME!

Despite sweltering heat and 150° track temperatures, the Star Racing/ Daytona Twin Tec, Pro Mod Suzuki beat the competition to win the Pro Mod class at the Lucky 7-11 Motor Cycle, 34th Annual "King of the Hill Showdown," July 23-25.  Steele, Alabama was the site of the event, and it was a testament of how much abuse a racer and his crew will endure in the challenge to be #1.  Click here to read more.
DYNO SHOOTOUT:

The "Run What Cha Brung!" dyno shoot out featuring Star Racing was held on Saturday, July 17th at the Albany Harley-Davidson in Albany, Georgia.  The Star 18-wheeler and parts display was set up and the crew talked to customers as the long line of motorcycles slowly moved towards the dyno.  Customer Cliff Nobles took home a trophy for 204.64 HP on his Road King, which we equipped with an S&S 124" engine and nitrous.  The Star shop Road King with an S&S 145" engine brought home another trophy with 201 HP.  See more pics

HOT WEATHER RIDING TIPS:
Here in Georgia, it gets really hot this time of year.  Here are some tips to keep your cool no matter where you ride:  1.  Cover your skin especially if the heat is low in humidity and also to reduce water loss from evaporation.  Also creates a cooler microclimate around your body and protection from sunburn.  2.  Stay cool by wetting your clothes with water.  The relief is almost immediate.  Soaking your pants also helps to keep the engine heat from baking your legs.  3.  Wear light colors.  Darker colors will absorb the sun's rays and be warmer than light or white clothing, which reflects light and heat.  4.  Stop frequently to rest and refresh yourself with a drink of water.  Try to find shade and cool down.  5.  Drink fluids - lots of fluids.  Drink more fluids (nonalcoholic), regardless of your activity level.  Don't wait until you are thirsty to drink.  6.  IMPORTANT! Recognize dehydration.  Here are some signs to look for.  Fatigue, headache, dizziness and cramps.  Check out the CDC's Tips for Preventing Heat-Related Illness.  7.  Take care of yourself and your motorcycle!  Make a checklist and follow it.  Things like cell phones, maps, tire condition, oil level, chain, etc.    Take care of yourself when riding your motorcycle in the heat.  Use your brain!  Do the research, prepare yourself and have fun!  Helpful Links: Heat Stroke Extreme Heat
