Star Racing will continue to operate and grow its online metric parts store at www.starracing.com. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2005, Star specializes in rare, hard to get parts for the older drag bike as well as stocking a large and varied selection of race products including ignition and head components, valves, sprockets, gaskets, chains, wheels, brakes, nitrous systems, carbs, pistons and rings, clutch plates and chassis components in their on site warehouse.

G Squared Motorsports (named for the two George's) was initially formed in 2003 as a collaboration between Bryce and Smith to field an S&S powered V-Twin NHRA drag bike. The company has since evolved into the development of late-model hot rod V-Twins for both the street and strip. The company also stocks a full line of S&S engines and support parts for drag racing enthusiasts, as well as for other motorcyclists, dealers and distributors. The G2 web site, www.g2motorsports.net, is continually updated with the latest race press releases, photos, engines in stock and information on complete turnkey motorcycles including their latest creation, the Gangster.

BIO - George Smith

George Smith grew up surrounded by motorcycles and the desire for speed was infused at an early age. Smith is the eldest of the second generation of the sports preeminent go-fast company; S&S Cycle and took the long way to the family business.

After completing one year of engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology, Smith left school and began his corporate training with a position at Chicago based R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., one of the world's largest commercial printers. He joined S&S Cycle in 1979 and was moved into the president's role upon his father's passing in 1980. Smith's natural creative ability combined with his quick grasp of complex technical applications served him well, as he quickly learned on the job to make high-performance V-Twin parts that work.

George Smith has become one of the most distinguished designers, innovators and authorities on the development of racing parts and engines for V-Twin motorcycles. Smith holds patents for the S&S Super E and G series carburetors and SuperStock series cylinder heads. Smith has helped design and power the engines that have blazed several notable land speed records. Of his achievements, he set a single engine record at Bonneville in 1986 of 276.51 mph.

In 1995, Smith started Hubba-Hubba Racing, Inc. to campaign what would become the first V-Twin drag bike to achieve 200 mph in the quarter mile. The company is now a consulting firm working with S&S Cycle and other clients to manage their various V-Twin projects.

Since 2003 George Smith has been the president, co-founder, and co-owner of G Squared (G2) Motorsports with partner George Bryce. Among other things, his duties as company president include serving as team manager of its new G2/S&S Buell Pro Stock motorcycle race team.

Smith is currently S&S's Chairman of the Board of Directors and was the company's president and VP of R&D and Engineering until 1994. Smith is credited with leading S&S into the successful market of producing complete engine packages for American V-Twin motorcycle companies. He also helped to further grow the company's status as the pioneer of aftermarket performance parts for Harley-Davidson enthusiasts.

Smith now splits his time between Wisconsin, Georgia, and numerous racetracks throughout the country.

  • BIO - George Bryce

For over twenty-five years, George Bryce has been the dynamic force behind the exciting NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle series. Starting out as the owner/rider/tuner of the Star Racing machines, Bryce garnered enough knowledge in all three areas to become the most sought after man in the business today. Bryce is credited with developing more talent than any other team owner in the history of the sport. Against all odds, and with naysayers at every turn Bryce took a raw, untested Angelle Seeling and turned her into the most victorious female racer in NHRA history. Bryce has had similar experiences with nearly a dozen other riders.

Untiring in his winning effort George Bryce is widely acclaimed for his ability to manage all aspects of a successful racing operation. Melding the psychological and physical has made him indispensable to potential professional racers. So much so that he teaches Pro Stock motorcycle racing at the acclaimed Frank Hawley Drag Racing School in Gainesville, Florida. Bryce's classes are always filled and repeat attendance speaks volumes as to Bryce's knowledge.

In 1980 George and his wife, Jackie Bryce founded Star Racing and in the twenty-some odd years since have positioned the business as a premier motorcycle racing and R&D facility, with engine building, machine shop services and a highly successful mail-order parts business.

By 2002 Bryce was ready to take on a new challenge and along with George Smith co-founded G Squared (G2) Motorsports and the G2/S&S Buell Pro Stock racing team. Among other things, his duties as Director of Racing include serving as team coach and head tuner. To date Bryce has won six NHRA national championships and 69 event wins as a rider, owner, or coach in 116 final rounds of competition.

Chip Ellis is currently employed as the company test rider, R&D technician, mechanic and custom painter for G Squared (G2) Motorsports. Ellis has pursued his passion for two-wheeled speed since he was a young boy. At the age of 10 he won his first national event in bicycle racing. By his early teens motorcycles became his passion. Ellis' career is diverse and exciting with numerous racing championships on local and national tracks.
